Sometimes I catch gaps inside life. A breath taken in the forest opens awareness and reminds me how much of the day I did not spend awake.
There is a brain fog over all of us; it veils looking and feeling. Swinging between what we have to do on autopilot and pleasure, we forget awareness and depth. This work is a reminder I set against that forgetting.
The design and symbol decisions took shape along the way. The sapling, the scales, the bowl of water, the moth in the palm: none was planned at the outset; each found its place in moments of awareness while I was drawing.
In Jung’s words: who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
