Behind the scenes

It began with the idea of turning the Fethiye–Göcek line into an international contemporary art destination and became a symposium. I took on field coordination, assistance to the project director, some sponsorship talks and the design of the international investor presentation. The event will take place in June 2027; we are running the preparation process.

7–9 July 2026. With Merkezkaç I took part in the project development workshop to which the projects that passed the technical evaluation were invited.

An exhibition project to be built in Antalya through an open call, with circle talks and a documentary. The conceptual framework, the CultureCIVIC application, the budget and the technical documents are mine.

The CultureCIVIC call (run by Goethe-Institut Istanbul, EU-funded) received 538 applications. Merkezkaç was not funded; it passed the technical evaluation and was among the projects invited to the project development workshop. I am continuing to work on the project.

18 January 2026, with 9 children. The aim is to move children’s relationship with technology from the consuming side to the producing side: the tablet and the phone stop being screens to watch and become tools that produce what is imagined. There is no “perfect film” pressure; the fear of making mistakes gives way to the courage to try. The Antalya repeat of the workshop that began in Fethiye in 2022.

The independent art platform I founded in 2024. I publish thematic pieces that read art together with philosophy and psychology; I designed and built the site and its interface myself and am still developing it. I also made the Merkezkaç application through this platform.

July 2022, with 15 children. The first of the workshops aiming to move children’s relationship with technology from the consuming side to the producing side.

I started as a volunteer and soon took over the management of the camp. 512 participants in a season, 14 artists and workshops a week, on average 22 volunteers and staff. I lived the experience of bringing artist and participant together in the same place. Running an organisation outside the conventional idea of tourism, one that added art and the colour of life to the all-inclusive concept, gave me an experience of its own.

29 September – 11 November 2018. As a member of the coordination team I supported the programming, production, installation and design lines; my name is in the biennial’s team archive.

The same year I was technical assistant on Seyhan Boztepe’s work “Eren” (2018, video, colour), shown at the biennial.

The first festival, organised in partnership between Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and the Gallipoli Historic Site Directorate (28–30 March 2017). I worked in the field during the preparations and throughout the festival. This is where I first stood behind a cultural event; the road to the biennial the following year opened here.
